Femtosecond (10-15 sec) laser pulses are the fastest physical event people can access to date. They provide unprecedented time resolution and peak intensity, which have been widely used in optical telecommunication, bio-imaging, time-resolved spectroscopy, chemical reaction control, 3D nano-machining, extreme ultraviolet laser generation, and nuclear fusion. I intend to forward the technology of manipulation and measurement of ultrafast waveforms based on the expertise of signal processing.
