 Y.-W. Peter Hong received his B.S. degree in Electrical
Engineering from National Taiwan University,
Taipei, Taiwan, in 1999, and his Ph.D. in
Electrical Engineering from Cornell
University, Ithaca, NY, in 2005. In fall of 2005, he joined the Institute of Communications Engineering
and the Department of Electrical Engineering in National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, where he is now an Associate Professor. He was also a visiting scholar at the University of Southern
California during June-August of 2008.
Research Interests: His research is focused on cooperative communications, multiuser wireless communications, MAC-PHY
cross-layered designs, and signal processing techniques for sensor networks.

Professional Services: Dr. Hong is an
Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and IEEE
Transactions on Information Forensics and Security. He has also served as the
Guest Editor of EURASIP Special Issue
on Cooperative MIMO Multicell Networks and IJSNET Special Issue on Advances in
Theory and Applications of Wireless, Ad Hoc, and Sensor Networks. Dr.
Hong has served on many conference committees. Specifically, he served as the
Publicity Co-Chair of ISITA2010/ISSSTA
2010, the Publication Co-Chair of VTC2010-Spring, and TPC
Track Co-Chair of the track on “Cognitive Radio and Cooperative
Communications” for VTC2010-Spring, and the TPC Track Co-Chair of the track
on “Wireless Communications” for WPMC2012. Dr. Hong has also served as the
TPC Co-Chair of WASN 2009 and as TPC members for numerous conferences, such
as ICC, Globecom, WCNC, ICASSP, APSIPA ASC, RWS, ChinaCom, IWCMC, MWCN, IWASN … etc.
