stablished in the year of 1977 and 1983 of master and doctorate programs, respectively, the graduate school at the Department of Electrical Engineering has been one of the most prestigious postgraduate institutes in Taiwan. Our department strives to provide graduate studies with research-oriented inter-disciplinary excellence. Currently, there are 23 full-time faculty members in the following areas:
Multi-media signal processing and communications, VLSI design and testing, computer engineering, electromagnetic wave theory, systems bioinformatics and neuroengineering, quantum computation and quantum communication.
Besides three recently-endowed IEEE fellows, our faculties are very active in both international academia activities and industry collaborations. Each year EE graduate school participates in over 75 projects and draws funding of over 80 millions NT dollars, leading all graduate schools at the college of EECS. Also numerous awards have been granted to our faculty members: IEEE Technical Achievements, Outstanding Research Awards from National Science Council, to name a few. Our faculty members also spend tremendous efforts on improving teaching quality: five faculty members have received Excellent Teaching Awards from the university. Several members at our department also participate in the Design Technology Center, which is a univerity-level institution to provide resources for collaboration on IC Design researches.
Each year we recruit over 120 MS and 25 Ph.D. students. We are very proud that graduated students in the past have contributed substantially to our society and achieved successfully at their careers of all sorts of work.
